What exactly does a Master of Ceremonies do?
The Wedding MC, also known as the Master of Ceremonies, plays a crucial role in making your wedding day a hit.
It would be my job as MC to make your wedding flow, to help keep things running on time and keep all your guests informed as to what’s happening. Throughout the event I'll cover any formal introductions, announce important moments throughout the event (I've added in a list of these below)and run through house-keeping rules. I'll be there on and off microphone to answer questions from you as a couple, your friends and family, and the people you have brought in to make your wedding amazing.
I'll have a run-sheet of your wedding so that I can play time-keeper and I'll be a point of liaison with your caterer, your wedding coordinator, photographer, videographer as well as the band or DJ to make sure everyone is on the same page, so that you and your guests can sit back, relax and be entertained as things unfold
I understand that a quality MC needs to skilfully move the focus off themselves and make others look good and enjoy the limelight. It's just like how I like to quietly move aside for the "you may kiss the bride" photos. This day is about the two of you, and you deserve to relax and enjoy the moment.
